WAX FLOWER



Guys, welcome back, let us now get started in learning another very interesting and a very attractive flower which exists in most parts of the world. First what is wax flower? Wax flower is a flowering shrub plant which comes from the myrtle family and it is known to have multiple blooms per stem. These flower acts a symbol of love and has a long lasting bloom after harvesting which symbolizes love and long lasting success, thereby, this is the reason why this flower is chosen for special occasions like in wedding bouquets to symbolize long lasting love and patience.
 
 The origin of this wax flower is traced to be the genus of shrubs endemic to the south western Australia.  The most well-known species is the Geraldton Wax, Chamelaucium uncinatum, which is cultivated widely for its large attractive flowers.

 Wax flower plant is always a medium size plant which exhibit pink, purple, red and white blooms and sometimes it includes some variations in colour and so they are best choice as cut flowers. This flower grows upright and therefore, it can be grown in clusters in a covered area unlike other flowers which they only require to be grown in an open area. The flower often grows at an average height of three feet  high and therefore, it is the best choice for flower gardens and orchards for landscaping purposes. The soil also need to be mixed with necessary manure or recommended fertilizers which contains the nutrients to supply the plant. 
  • Water should be made available but in most cases his plant is drought resistant, therefore, the bloom will reduce by they will form so this means that water should be available to some extent to make sure that the flower blooms in huge amounts.
  • Fertilizers are applied 3-4 weeks after planting the flower depending on the condition of the flower.

 Uses of wax flower
  • Wax flower is used in special arrangements like weddings, packaging gifts and used in hospitals when the sick are visited to express love and affection and also to give hope to the sick to make them recover quickly. Also these flowers are used in sad moments like during funerals to morn and express love for the departed ones.
  • Wax flower also generates income for countries which grow the plant in large numbers for commercial purposes and thereby it improves the economy of these specific countries.
  • This flower again generates employment opportunities for people who grow this plant for commercial purposes because through this it creates jobs for many people hence people who are hired in these large wax flower plantations will generate income hence improving their lives.
