STOCK FLOWER PLANT

Stock flower is an interesting flower to put your thoughts in learning what the flower entails starting from its amazing features. It is one of the characteristic plant with fragrance which makes it fantastic to be used for gardening. This flower is commonly called Gilly flower and biologically it is called Matthiola incana. Generally this flower is attractive in nature.

When growing this plant, you should grow in such away that the bloom should target spring season because it is noted that the bloom period for this flower takes place during spring period towards the late summer.   
Stock flowers exists in many of varieties ranging from pink, white, red and lilac in colour. The origin of this flower is traced to have originated from Greece and a long the Mediterranean region.

 How to plant stock flower
It is pretty hilarious to describe how this type of flower is grown.  This type of flower is simple to grow. It only needs a few requirements to be put in place before the plant is actually put in the soil to grow. The requirements indeed are:
  • The selected area for plantation should be fully exposed to sunlight as the plant does well in full sunlight.
  • The selected area should be well drained so that there is no water that will be retained back which may be too much and may damage the flower.
  • The soil should be prepared well by digging the soil about a week before the actual plantation of the flower to loosen the soils and in addition, add necessary nutrients to the soil so that during the actual plantation of the flowers, the nutrients will be able to be supplied to the plants throughout their growth till their maturity.
So, when planting these plants, make sure that you plant the flower plants at most 2-3 inches apart and care must be maintained closely as the plants grow until they mature. This type of flower is just good for gardening and i recommend you to grow this flower whether in large scale or in small scale as they have beautiful flowers and fragrance which makes it good for decorating houses and landscaping purposes. It is also good for special occasions such as for packaging gifts for people who have affection and also for weddings. The most important thing to note about this flower is that, it is a perennial plant and so when you grow it around your house then you do not have to struggle to regrow again.
